SUGAR - IT'S NOT SO SWEET...

If you grew up eating lots of sugar as I did, then it can be difficult to understand how sugar is so harmful to our health. And it can be hard to eliminate or drastically reduce it since you've been eating sugar for so long. But if you want improved health or if you want to prevent future medical problems, then read this information carefully and take heed to my advice! 

 

Sugar is NOT so sweet when you understand and accept the truth.

Most everyone can use a little help with planning meals - and some need more help than others.

MAKING HEALTHY FOOD FUN!

Whether working with your children or grandchildren (note 2 of my precious grandchildren to the left!) or perhaps children in your classroom if you're a teacher, I believe the best way to get children interested in wholesome eating is to get them involved in cooking at an early age!

 

What children aren't going to want to try the foods they help prepare?  The simple no-recipe-required pizza that Aaron and Lydia prepared used whole wheat English muffins for the crust. Children need help in cutting vegetables and using the oven, but they can build the pizzas.

 

Given choices and encouragement, most children will select at least one vegetable if they are not already in the habit of having vegetables on their pizza.

There's more to "detoxification" than eating more fiber and drinking fresh vegetable juices, although they might be good components.  Keep in mind that the very first step to detoxification is to reduce the amount of toxic chemicals entering your body, and believe me, they are all around but, unfortunately, we don't always recognize them!

Many who are overweight are finally able to lose weight when they simply learn to eat better, so that's the very first thing to do if you are overweight and ready to do something about it. Start following the advice throughout this website. Some, however, find it more difficult to lose weight and need additional steps. 

 

Learning to eat wholesome food is a must for everyone because even if you need more help, you still need to be eating well.

HELP FOR THE BRAIN!

The brain is not static - it is alive and fully capable of receiving help when not functioning optimally!  Just as the physical body needs adequate nutrition, so does the brain. Avoiding toxic substances that can go through the blood-brain barrier and create havoc is another important factor.

If you (or a loved one) are dealing with any kind of brain illness, it's important to see a qualified functional doctor for testing and individualized care. There is far more that can be done beyond what you read here.

  

Helping brain illnesses is kind of like finding needles in a haystack – and there are different needles for each person. My advice is to never give up on the search! The larger the needles, the easier it is to find, but sometimes the needles are so small, we need a magnifying glass to see them.
