Health Basics First

Here's an important video as we get started talking about health! The bottom line is that since we are all different beings, there's not one exact diet for everyone. Discover more details in the video below:

Certain "health basics" apply to everyone. If you don't get positive results as you apply basic information, then don't fail to look beyond the basics and seek personalized health information! With advancement in knowledge and technology, personalized health is becoming more available, yet a search is sometimes necessary to find the right practitioner to help you. Don't give up!

Throughout my working years as a registered dietitian nutritionist, I created numerous handouts and written articles to help teach important nutrition concepts like eating REAL vs. eating FAKE and eating WHOLE vs. PROCESSED. I've recently updated some of this material to make it current, and those handouts follow as PDFs.

I have always tried to make my writing simple enough for everyone to understand, and perhaps you already know these basics. But I invite you to look this information over since, if you know the basics but aren't yet putting them into practice, you won't get the results that good nutrition provides.  Our knowledge of nutrition has drastically changed over the years - it certainly has since I was in college years ago when there were no warnings about fake foods, over-processed foods, or even sugar and refined grains. It's a must that we stay current! I wonder what important health and nutrition concepts will be come to light that we have no clue about today.

Study the following PDF handouts from your computer, or print them off if you prefer. You'll also find links throughout the website to public videos that I believe provide accurate health-promoting information. Always keep this important statement in mind: Just because information is in print or on video does not make it correct - so don't be misled! Question anything that seems outlandish or too good to be true. By knowing the basics, you'll be better able to discern fact from fiction.
